Amazing Stay at Historic Hotel!

I loved the spacious rooms, the bathrooms were super clean, and the shower had fantastic water pressure. The Elizabethan hotel felt very grand and had many Victorian alterations. I really enjoyed the hot water available throughout my stay as well.
The terrace was fully reserved for a private event which I felt was disappointing.

a grand stay with minor hiccups

the location was fantastic. staff was helpful from the minute we got there. the room was lovely. the bed in the executive room was so comfortable.
the room was too hot. this made it hard to sleep without ac and proper ventilation. i had to keep the windows shut to prevent insects from getting in. the fan was not enough to cool down the room.

The grounds were picturesque and inviting for a stroll.
The room felt dated. I saw a large tear down the edge of one curtain. The finishing in the bathroom needed more care (I noticed gaps around the bath baseboard). the entrance to the bar was next to a visibly unclean kitchen area (a filthy mat was outside), which I did not like.
