Grand Hotel Asgardstrand - Unike Hoteller, Asgardstrand

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The location was fantastic, offering a Munch-experience right next to where Edvard Munch painted some famous artworks. The rooms, however, were quite disappointing as they lacked cleanliness and maintenance, with issues like dark and dirty conditions, broken door handles, and musky bedding. The dining experience was satisfying with healthy selections but had a downside of limited options. The service was friendly but seemed understaffed at times.

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms were a total disappointment - dark, dirty, and with a view of the parking lot. There were spiderwebs around the windows, and the promised bathtub was missing. It was a little dusty overall, but acceptable. Maintenance and renewal could have made a big difference as I encountered door handles falling off, a loose shower head, and musky bedding, curtains, and carpets. On the bright side, the service was friendly and service-minded. The location was nice, with a perfect view of the yacht harbor and the Oslofjord. The dining experience was really good, although I never ended up having an evening meal. The facilities could have been better but were sufficient. Even though there were some disappointments, the friendly service and lovely location added to the experience.

The location was excellent, overlooking the yacht harbour and Oslofjord, offering great walking and biking opportunities but with a view of a parking lot and the garbage station which was not ideal. The dining experience, especially the breakfast, was enjoyable with good options for vegetarians. The facilities were satisfactory, although there were a few minor room details that needed attention.

The hotel had a stunning view of the harbour and was spotless throughout. The rooms were totally clean and sleeping was perfectly comfortable. Although some maintenance and renewal could have been beneficial, it didn't impact our stay. The service was very friendly and efficient, making my Booking birthday special. However, it seemed a bit insecure. The location was excellent, overlooking the yacht harbour and the Oslofjord, in the fairytale town of Asgardstrand. The dining experience was very good, with lots of choices, and the hotel had a very good selection of food.

Staying on the third floor, I enjoyed a room with a lovely view towards the sea. The staff was friendly and polite, although at times it seemed they could use more help. The hotel is conveniently located right in front of a marina, perfect for exploring the waterfront and nearby attractions. The dining options were good with a continental breakfast and some Norwegian extras, even on a day with few visitors.
